The UnAmerican LP

When the System has destroyed all hope of Peace Or Freedom
All that is left to do is destroy the System.

This Album was born out of love and rage, hope and despair. It is the expression of my dreams, my fears, and my passion. I can’t promise that it will change the world, or even change your world, but making it has helped me change mine.

I was in the streets of Seattle in November of 1999 when over 50,000 people stood up to the forces of globalization, imperialism, and corporate domination by shutting down the entire city of Seattle and making it impossible for the World Trade Organization (WTO) to hold their meetings behind closed doors. We did the impossible. In North America, the home territory of the worlds largest imperialist power, we stood up to the machine and we brought them to their knees.

A year later I was one of thousands of people who took over Washington D.C. as part of the mass protests against the International Monetary Fund (IMF); the organization that is directly responsible for the incredible poverty of the so-called “third world.” In the years since, there have been actions of even larger scope from Argentina to Switzerland, South Africa to Mexico.

Over an over again, we have proven that when the people stand up, there is no force on earth that can stop us.

From Chiapas to Chechnya, Ireland to Tibet – and in a thousand other places; people are fighting back against the capitalist death machine that would destroy our planet, wrap the broken shards in plastic, and sell them back to us. Our resistance is as global as our suffering. When parents cannot feed their children, governments fall; and it doesn’t matter what color their skin is, what language they speak, or what they believe waits for them after death. We are fighting for our survival, and our allies are everyone who wants to create a truly free world for their children.

Nothing Changed on September 11th, 2001.
The rich are still getting richer, the poor are still getting poorer. The ruling classes of the industrialized world still use their control of media, electoral systems, and public education systems to pacify the working majority; while in the so-called “third world” the majority goes hungry. War is still being waged for profit, children still die every day from the bombs and bullets of the new imperialists, and Americans still rely on petroleum extracted at gunpoint to power the infrastructure of their own enslavement. When those airliners hit those buildings, all it meant was that now the neofascist christians who run america have competition from neofascist muslims. Both are willing and able to murder innocent people to build their own power and enforce their own versions of “God’s Will.” Fighting against Capitalism and authoritarianism does not mean I support Al Queda, because Al Queda is every bit as capitalist and authoritarian as the American empire they claim to oppose. Our enemies enemy is also our enemy, and we cannot allow either set of fascists to destroy our world.

My music is a weapon.
Nothing more and nothing less. The corporations control the airwaves, the telivision stations, the newspapers – every form of mass media has been turned into a tool of social control to keep the majority under the thumb of the elite minority. As George Orwell said, “in a time of universal deciet, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.” So consider my songs ammunition for the class war.

In the last six years I’ve traveled all over this country, talking to people, learning by doing, and lending a hand wherever I can. I am not unique or special in any way, I am just one out of the many thousands of people who have dedicated themselves to this struggle. We are fighting for our lives, our planet, our communities, our friends, families, and neighbors; and we cannot afford to lose.

So when the president – any president – gets up on national television and says that those of us who oppose him and his plans for global domination and mass murder are UnAmerican, then it is time for every person of conscience – every person who is not ready to see the blood of innocent people spilled for the profit and amusement of the powers that be to stand up and tell the world: We are proud to be UnAmerican; and we will use every means available to us to defend ourselves, each other, and our world!

There can be no Peace until there is Justice.
And there will be no Justice until we make Revolution.

ALL POWER TO THE PEOPLE.

The UnAmerican LP was independently released Mayday (May 1), 2004. It’s my third full-length and my fourth release. This album was been over two years in the making, been postponed 3 times due to lack of funding, and consumed more hours of work then I could possibly count. I’ve put my heart and my soul into this music, and I hope ya’ll can hear that when you listen to it. 8 instrumentals were contributed by some of the most talented producers i’ve ever had the pleasure of working with, and two other artists contributed vocals. My man ‘YOU WON’, contributed the graff art for the cover, and the cover photo is from indymedia.org of a protest last summer in Greece. Mixdowns were done by Aaron at 510studios, and Mastering for all tracks was done by the very talented Bill The Pharmacizt. I did everything else myself – from the cover design to the composition, recording, and production. I hope you enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed creating. Solidarity, Emcee Lynx
