Putting the new studio together

Posted on December 29, 2010

Well it’s been a long time since I had a good way to record at home, I used to do all my recording in my living room but with a band everything gets more complex.  It’s taken a while to save up and put the pieces together but I’ve just taken a new motu unit out of the box and am working on getting it all set up and ready to go.   Just one more piece of the new studio but a big one, and one that makes it finally possible to start doing some real pro quality recording with live musicians.  This is a good thing.  We’ve got 12 songs written for the band’s new album and it’s time to start recording and getting stuff down.

Meanwhile, Obama is doing all the same shit Bush did, Wikileaks is being demonized as a terrorist organization for publicizing the dirty truth, and it’s becoming increasingly clear to the population at large that the economy isn’t going to get better any time soon.  You’d expect this to be ground zero – the starting point of a new revolutionary movement.  I’ve been wondering when that movement was gonna get started for a while now but it’s become clear to me that we’re too busy being infiltrated, spied on, lied too, beat down, and locked up to make much real progress.   I’d bail but my work visa applications to the UK keep getting turned down and I don’t speak any other languages.

I suppose I could get all depressed and sad about it but that doesn’t seem to accomplish much.  The way I see it we need real music now more then ever, so I’m just trying to stay focused on making that happen.  It’s about to be a new year and I want to make this one memorable.  I’m sending out applications to festivals, writing songs, building a studio, planting my garden, and trying to do my bit to raise some hell.  Because that’s what we need, now more then ever.

let’s make 2011 a good one ya’ll, happy new year.
