if voting could change anything…

Emma Goldman used to say that if voting could change anything it would be illegal. I’m inclined to agree with her and I’m endlessly frustrated y the illusion many people still maintain that our electoral system is somehow “representative” or “democratic”. There is nothing even remotely democratic about a system that claims 1 man can “represent” a nation of 300 million. It’s simply impossible. The United States is too big, too diverse, too divided to ever be accurately represented by anyone who doesn’t have a severe multiple personality disorder.

So why do I care about election results and the very real ongoing voter fraud that has resulted in at least 2 stolen presidential elections? After all, tweedle dum may be a raving lunatic and a warmongering sociopath, but so is tweedle dee. Still, I can’t help thinking that if Joe Average realized that even that ridiculous farce of a choice is an illusion, then maybe we’d see some change in this country.

And on that note, here’s the official report from the National Election Data Archive on the 2004 elections. They ran a statistical analysis of the exit poll results and compared them to the official results. Their conclusion was that the only plausible explanation for the discrepancy between the two was widespread voter fraud. And, of course, our “Free” press is completely ignoring the story. Why am I not surprised?

I’m hardly the first person to write about this. Just google “electronic voting machines” + fraud and you’ll turn up links to tons of articles and even how-to guides explaining how large-scale voting fraud like this can be carried out.

I’ve said it before and I’ll probably say it again – anyone who still believes that the USA is a democracy, this is your final wake-up call. Corporations control our entire political system, our elections are rigged, our economy is run in the exclusive interests of the financial elite, and anyone who objects ends up in jail (if they’re lucky) or (if they’re not so lucky) has their citizenship stripped away and ends up in Guantanamo. Read the fucking patriot act if you don’t believe me.

Wake up and smell the Fascism people. If you’re not working for change now you lose all whining privileges when they round your sorry ass up and send you to the camps. And by change I don’t mean electing Ron Paul or some other uber-capitalist douchebag, I mean getting back out in the fucking streets where we belong; but this time coming prepared to fight back and win when the police attack. the time for pacifism and ineffective protest-as-ritual that doesn’t challenge or change anything has long since passed. It’s time to fight back NOW, while we still have at least a small chance to win.
