for everyone who’s ever told me I’ll “grow out of it”
I used to get told all the time that I’d outgrow being an anarchist once i got a little older and wiser – usually by people who knew far less about politics and economics then me. Almost 11 years on and I think I’ve definitely gotten a bit older and hopefully wiser, but if anything I’m more dedicated to the idea of a non-coercive and egalitarian society then I’ve ever been. I can only hope to stay as dedicated as this guy when I’m as old as him.

Revolution isn’t a task for the young, as so many americans seem to think. We need support and wisdom from our older comrades, the energy of younger people, the stability of people in between who are raising children or just dedicating themselves to the struggle – people of all ages are needed in this movement and moreover there is room for everyone in it. and if that room isn’t readily apparent then please – by all means – say something to your comrades and we’ll do our best to make room! We need each other. Let’s never forget that.
And, just cuz it’s fun, here’s a great feature-length film on Anarchism in the US made in 1980, the year I was born. For everyone who think the modern anarchist resurgence started with Seattle in 1999! Remember folks, just cuz the corporate news isn’t covering it doesn’t mean it isn’t happening or didn’t happen or won’t happen again.
