Rap Anarchists
Posted on March 25, 2007
I was on my way home today thinking about music and it occured to me that where even a few years ago I didn’t know a single other anarchist active in the hiphopscene, now I know of at least a dozen artists and activists with anti-authoritarian politics making moves. seems to me like we’ve got the start of a movement going here, ya know?
long story short, i figured if we want to seriously build into a movement a good first step would be to get to know who each other are and start building a network of mutual aid to help us all be more effective in promoting our music and our message. First step of that is i’ve started a listserve through riseup.net for anarchists in the hip hop scene. if that sounds interesting to you you can subscribe at http://lists.riseup.net/www/info/rapanarchists.
I’ve sent out a bunch of invites and posted a bulltin, but there’s a limit to how much promotion i can do on this since i can’t exactly jjust print up flyers ‘n that. so if you know someone who’d be down with this project or know of a listserve or bulletin board where this’d be relevant, please feel free to repost or forward this message.
hope to see ya’ll on there soon.

i got a post from the anarchist celts list the other night with a link to a rather cool article on the history of EF! and other direct-action eco-anarchist groups in the uk. feckin’ brilliant stuff, i just wish americans could get their shit together enough to make that kind of thing happen here. anyway, enough talking, here’s the link.
